The Ministry of Human Empowerment
This department of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church aims at identifying the invaluable human resource of the Church across the world and utilizing them in the most useful way for the benefit of the Church and the society. Foreseeing the need for developing and galvanizing the human potential of the Church, H. H. Baselios Marthoma Mathews II, the great visionary, began the work of this department in 1995 under name “ The Malankara Orthodox Human Resource Development Society, ” Later, His Holiness started the Catholicate Study Centre too and conducted many programmes under this centre. His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Didymus 1 felt the need for revamping and revitalizing the activities of the Centre and thus a full fledged department came in to existence. The H.R.M envisages to work in four different areas.
- Guidance and Training for students and job seekers.
- Information regarding employment opportunities.
- Family Welfare schemes- Excellent family Exemplary Society Project.
- Volunteer Personnel Service.
Administration
An eight member Council headed by H. G. Dr. Thomas Mar Athanasius, the Metropolitan of the Diocese of Kandanad East, looks after the administration of the Department .The Family Centre under the Department of Human Resource Management of Malankara Orthodox Church operates www.marry2love.com, the family website of the Church as a part of the Church's social commitment. The objectives of the Family Centre are:
- To edify model Christian families with a strong spiritual and moral foundation.
- To help to find out the most suitable life partners.
- To impart counseling facilities for personal and family problems.
